Overview:

The single most important aspect of any project is the defining of all the tasks that must be performed to accomplish the project's objectives. This definition is called the work breakdown structure.

The description of these tasks provides the basis for: scheduling and resource planning, defining roles and responsibilities, assigning work to team members, capturing key project performance data, budgeting, and reporting on completed project work.

One of my major concerns when I start a new project is remembering to plan for all important pieces of work. Another concern is accurately estimating required time and resources. This is accomplished by developing the Work Breakdown Structure.

The WBS is a breakdown of the work to be executed by the project team. The WBS development process subdivides the project work into smaller, more manageable pieces of work, with each descending level of the WBS representing an increasingly detailed definition of the project work. The planned work contained within the lowest level WBS components, which are called work packages, can be scheduled, cost estimated, monitored, and controlled.

The WBS is critical to planning and managing your project! This webinar will discuss and detail this process.

Why should you Attend: This webinar is the second in a series of webinars that detail all of the critical aspects of project management. The contents of each webinar in this series are designed to mirror the key sections of the PMP exam.
